China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism recently issued the “Notice on Further Business Resumption of Tourism Enterprises,” which raises the operating capacity of tourism sites from 30% to 50% of permitted capacity. As a result of this policy change, and as overall market conditions continue to rebound, Shanghai Disney Resort is increasing the daily capacity of the resort’s theme park, Shanghai Disneyland, and, effective August 24, 2020, will transition the current Advanced Reservation Period to a new reservation phase, aiming to provide more flexibility for guests to plan and enjoy their park visit. During this new reservation phase, the park will continue to fully comply with regulatory directives on reservations, staggered arrival and applicable capacity controls.

With the increased daily capacity beginning August 24, 2020, Shanghai Disneyland Annual Pass holders and General Admission Ticket holders will be able to visit the park on any eligible day based on the condition of their pass or ticket*. All other guests will be able to purchase park tickets and visit the park on the same day, subject to ticket availability. To comply with regulatory directives, all guests, including Shanghai Disneyland Annual Pass holders and infants under 3 years old or under 1.0 meter in height, will still be required to make a reservation by submitting their visitation date and personal information to obtain a Shanghai Disneyland Reservation QR Code prior to their arrival at the park’s Main Entrance.

Starting from the first day of the new phase on August 24, 2020, the validity period of Annual Passes and General Admission Tickets that were impacted by the park closure and Advanced Reservation Period will be extended accordingly. Click here for more details.

Shanghai Disneyland Annual Pass Holders

Beginning August 24, 2020, Shanghai Disneyland Annual Pass holders will no longer be required to obtain a visitation spot or choose the arrival time of their visit in advance. The new procedures for Annual Pass holders to visit the park are as follows:
  • Annual Pass holders will be able to visit the park on any day falling under their eligible dates on the up-to-date Shanghai Disneyland Annual Pass Calendar for different Pass types*;
  • Annual Pass holders will need to make a reservation by submitting their visitation date and personal information through the resort’s official online platforms to obtain a Shanghai Disneyland Reservation QR Code prior to their arrival at the park’s Main Entrance;
  • They can arrive and enter the park at any time during the park’s announced hours of operation on their selected visitation date;
  • The current seven-day reservation calendar will be expanded to a 30-day window for Annual Pass holders, allowing more flexibility to plan their visit and offering same day visit reservation. At 13:00 on August 18, 2020, we will open a 30-day window from which Annual Pass holders are able to register a visit starting from August 24, 2020.
  • Annual Pass holders will be provided with one reservation per visit per pass, and a new reservation will be able to be made once the current one is redeemed, cancelled or expired.
Starting from the first day of the new phase on August 24, 2020, the validity period of Annual Passes that were impacted by the park closure and Advanced Reservation Period will be extended as follows:
  • For Annual Passes that were purchased before the park’s closure date of January 25, 2020 and still valid on and after January 25, 2020, the validity period will be extended for 212 days (the total number of impacted days from January 25 to August 23, 2020), starting from the original expiration date of each such Annual Pass;
  • For Annual Passes that were purchased on or after January 25, 2020, but before or on August 23, 2020, the validity period will start on August 24, 2020.

Annual Pass holder Advanced Reservation Procedures and Requirements (applicable to reservations before August 24, 2020):

  • Shanghai Disneyland Annual Pass holders who have redeemed their Annual Pass are required to fill out the Annual Pass number and associated government ID to reserve a date and time of visit prior to their arrival at the park’s Main Entrance. Shanghai Disneyland Annual Pass holders who have not yet redeemed their Annual Pass can make a reservation for the date and time of their first visit by using their Annual Pass’s order number and the government ID number that was used to purchase the Annual Pass.
  • To make the first registration, Annual Pass holders who have not yet redeemed their Annual Pass need to fill out their personal information. The information submitted when redeeming the Annual Pass must match the information and the government ID number provided when making the reservation. In cases where the Annual Pass holder's personal information differs, the Annual Pass holder will not be allowed to enter the park. Annual Pass holders who have made a reservation by using the order number must visit the Shanghai Disneyland Main Entrance ticket booths to redeem their Annual Pass before entering the park.
  • Each reservation includes a maximum of 5 Annual Pass holders. If an accompanying guest is a child under the age of 3 years old or with a height of 1.0 meter and below on the day of their visit, his/her name and government ID and the Annual Pass holder’s mobile phone number are required for advanced reservation. Once the reservation is successfully completed, no adding, deleting, or changing of an Annual Pass holder is permitted. All Annual Pass holders under the same reservation must enter the park at the same time.
  • Each order number can only be used to make a reservation for the Pass holder’s first-time visit. If some Annual Pass holder(s) under the same order have already redeemed their Annual Pass or used the order number to make a reservation, but others under the same order are yet to make a reservation or redeem their Annual Pass, they must redeem their Pass on-site first, and follow the Annual Pass holder (redeemed) Advanced Reservation Procedures and Requirements.
  • Only one reservation per time per pass is permitted. The reservation is cancellable and changeable subject to the availability of the daily quota. Annual Pass holders are unable to make another reservation until the current one is redeemed, cancelled or expired. The reservation status of the accompanying child who is under the age of 3 years old or with a height of 1.0 meter and below on the day of their visit must be the same as the Annual Pass holder.
  • Reservations are subject to the eligible dates for different Pass types on the up-to-date Shanghai Disneyland Annual Pass Calendar. The current reservation calendar for Annual Pass holders is 7 days. The daily quota is in limited quantities and is offered on a first come, first served basis.
  • We are offering park entry sessions with different start times depending on daily operations. Please go to the Advanced Reservation page for more details and select a visitation date and a park entry session.
  • Guests under the age of 16 years old must be accompanied by a guest aged 16 or older in order to enter the park.

Annual Pass holder New Reservation Procedures and Requirements (applicable to reservations on and after August 24, 2020):

  • Shanghai Disneyland Annual Pass holders who have redeemed their Annual Pass are required to select a visitation date and fill out the Annual Pass number and associated government ID prior to their arrival at the park’s Main Entrance. Shanghai Disneyland Annual Pass holders who have not yet redeemed their Annual Pass can make a reservation for the date of their first visit by using their Annual Pass’s order number and the government ID number that was used to purchase the Annual Pass.
  • To make the first registration, Annual Pass holders who have not yet redeemed their Annual Pass need to fill out their personal information.   • Each order number can only be used to make a reservation for the Pass holder’s first-time visit. If some Annual Pass holder(s) under the same order have already redeemed their Annual Pass or used the order number to make a reservation, but others under the same order have not yet made a registration or redeemed their Annual Pass, they must redeem their Pass on-site first, and follow the Annual Pass holder (redeemed) Reservation Procedures and Requirements.

  • The current reservation calendar for Annual Pass holders is 30 days. At 13:00 on August 18, 2020, we will open a 30-day window from which Annual Pass holders are able to register a visit starting from August 24, 2020. Starting August 25, 2020, at 13:00 every day, Annual Pass holders are able to check the reservation calendar for 30 days. Reservation is subject to the eligible dates for different Pass types on the up-to-date Shanghai Disneyland Annual Pass Calendar.
  • Guests under the age of 16 years old must be accompanied by a guest aged 16 or older in order to enter the park.
*In accordance with existing Shanghai Disneyland attendance management policies, if a date is forecast to be a ‘high attendance day’ based on government guidelines on maximum capacity (currently 50%) and should demand require such action, Shanghai Disneyland reserves the right to suspend the sale of all ticket products and block out all Annual Passes on that date. Communications will be made accordingly in a timely manner.
