Zootopia has officially opened at Shanghai Disneyland on December 20. As we continue to manage maximum capacity for each area of our resort, and in anticipation of high demand to visit Zootopia during its opening period, please understand that admission to Zootopia or its new attraction “Zootopia: Hot Pursuit” may not be secured for every guest who enters Shanghai Disneyland. However, guests will be able to encounter multiple new experiences with a Zootopia touch throughout the park, including decoration, entertainment, food & beverage and merchandise.

Please also note that overnight queuing for entry to Shanghai Disneyland on any day is not permitted. Guests are encouraged to plan their trip accordingly.

In the opening phase, we expect that pauses and brief downtimes may occur from time to time in the new attraction “Zootopia: Hot Pursuit”. Downtimes may occur for a variety of reasons due to the complexity of the ride system and built-in safety features, based on industry requirements and best practices. In the event of downtime, guests will be required to evacuate according to onsite cast members' instructions. Operation of the attraction will be resumed after the completion of all necessary procedures. We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our guests during this opening period.

What is a Disney Standby Pass?

Disney Standby Pass is an innovative free online reservation tool launched by Shanghai Disney Resort to help guests reserve times to enter the queue line for popular attractions, entertainment shows, or other experiences. It can help reduce your physical wait time in attraction queues, and enhance your overall park experience.

The specific dates, time periods, attractions, entertainment, or other experiences whereby Disney Standby Pass applies will be adjusted based on operational needs. For the time period when Disney Standby Pass is applicable, guests need to hold a Disney Standby Pass to enter the standby queue at corresponding attractions, entertainment, or other experiences. Outside of these hours, Disney Standby Pass will not be required.

Disney Standby Pass will not necessarily be required every day or for every applicable attraction, entertainment, or other experiences. Please check the Official App and tap on “Standby Pass” to see if Disney Standby Passes are required on the day of your visit.

How to get and use a Disney Standby Pass?

  • Step 1 – Download the Shanghai Disney Resort Official App before you arrive at the park and create your own account with your mobile phone number or email address.
  • Step 2 – After entering the park, open the Shanghai Disney Resort Official App, sign in and select “ Standby Pass” under the “Discover” tab.
  • Step 3 – Select the Disney Standby Pass category you want to experience
  • Step 4 – Scan the QR code on your park ticket. You can link the park tickets of all the members of your party in your app so that you may enjoy the attractions, entertainment, or other experiences together using the same Disney Standby Pass return time. Please ensure all members of your party have already entered the park.
  • Step 5 – You may select one of the attractions, entertainment, or other experiences from each category to get your Disney Standby Pass, at no extra charge. The earliest available time slot will be shown on the app. Guests can get Disney Standby Passes in different categories at the same time, but the selected Disney Standby Pass must be used to enter the corresponding attraction, experience or location within the reserved time slot. Disney Standby Passes under different categories can be held at the same time, but guests need to enter the corresponding attraction, experience or location within the selected time period.
  • Step 6 – Confirm the selection for your Disney Standby Pass.
  • Step 7 – To redeem, go to the Disney Standby Pass return entrance at the designated return time, and then show your QR code, found in “My Plans” on the App or the QR code on your park ticket.

Guests who do not have a smart phone or have other difficulties in obtaining Disney Standby Pass may get assistance at Guest Services locations throughout the park.

  • Disney Standby Passes are linked to park tickets. Please always keep your park ticket secure.
  • Disney Standby Pass is subject to availability.
  • Disney Standby Pass is only valid on the day of issue and can only be redeemed during the time selected.
  • Disney Standby Pass does not provide immediate access to a location.
  • Guests with a Disney Standby Pass must enter attractions, entertainment, or other experiences via the designated Disney Standby Pass entrances. Everyone in the party must have their own Disney Standby Pass, which is linked to their park tickets.
  • At the Disney Standby Pass entrance of the location, a Cast Member will scan your park ticket to verify the visual identity of the park ticket holder.
  • Guests, including Annual Pass holders, cannot hold an additional Disney Standby Pass for the same attraction, entertainment or other experiences before the original Disney Standby Pass is redeemed or expires. Disney Standby Passes under different categories can be held at the same time, but guests need to enter the corresponding attraction, experience or location within the selected time period.
  • For attractions and entertainment, guests may cancel their confirmed and unused Disney Standby Pass at any time prior to the expiration of the validity time shown on the pass. For other experiences, the cancelation viability is based on the actual operation situation. Since Disney Standby Pass distribution is subject to availability, guests are not guaranteed to get a new Disney Standby Pass after such a cancelation.
