Disneytown and the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel will both reopen on June 16, 2022. Wishing Star Park, the World of Disney Store and Blue Sky Boulevard have resumed operations on June 10. During the initial reopening stage, each venue will operate with limited capacity as well as select offerings and services. The Disneytown Parking Lot will also resume operations on June 16.
Shanghai Disneyland and Toy Story Hotel will continue to remain temporarily closed until further notice.
Upon reopening, each of these resort locations will operate at limited capacity and reduced hours of operation:
- Wishing Star Park will operate from 9:00 to 17:00;
- Blue Sky Boulevard will operate from 8:00 to 20:00;
- The overall hours of operation for Disneytown will be from 10:00 to 20:00, except for the World of Disney Store, which will operate from 9:00 to 20:00;
- The Disney Car and Coach Park will operate from 7:00 to 20:00;
- The Disneytown Parking Lot will operate from 9:00 to 20:00.

Upon reopening, many of the shopping, dining, and recreational experiences in Disneytown will be available to guests, operating with reduced hours of operation. Participating restaurants will offer adjusted menus featuring “grab-and-go” items.
Starting today, guests will be able to make reservations for the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel through the Shanghai Disney Resort official website, app, Weixin/WeChat account, the Resort Reservation Center and the resort’s official travel partners’ channels. All room types at Shanghai Disneyland Hotel will be available for reservations, subject to availability. Most of the hotel’s iconic dining experiences, including Lumière’s Kitchen and Aurora, together with the Disney fairies-themed shop, Tinker Bell Gifts, will reopen at the same time. Wishing Star Ferry will remain temporarily closed during the initial reopening stage. From June 14 to July 12, 2022, Shanghai Disneyland Annual Pass holders will be able to enjoy a discounted room rate – approximately 20% off – for a Deluxe Garden View room during June 16 to July 13, 2022 at Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, subject to availability. For Shanghai Disneyland Annual Pass holders whose birthday falls in March to June, the validity period of their birthday benefits this year, including those that can be enjoyed at the resort hotel, will be extended to September 30, 2022. (Redemption of Pass benefit is only valid during the Pass validity period. Hotel’s discounted offer is calculated on the basis of the room rate on the same date and same room type selected by the Annual Pass holder when purchased via the Shanghai Disney Resort Official Weixin/WeChat Account or Shanghai Disney Resort Reservation Center.)
During this reopening period, Shanghai Disney Resort will continue its enhanced health and safety measures, in accordance with the latest government regulations and guidance:
- All locations will operate at controlled capacity upon reopening;
- All guests, regardless of age, will be required to present a green Shanghai Health QR Code (“Suishenma”) and a negative Nucleic Acid Test (NAT) taken within 72 hours (from sampling time) prior to entering Shanghai Disney Resort. In order to comply with government guidelines for tourism destinations, we are not able to accept 24-hour NAT test sampling proof but without a negative NAT taken within 72 hours. Proof of a negative NAT taken within 72 hours is mandatory. Guests are strongly recommended to register for their Shanghai Health QR Code via the Suishenban App, Weixin/WeChat or Alipay prior to their arrival. For guests without a smart phone, please bundle your QR code with a family member via the Suishenban App, Weixin/WeChat or Alipay. An offline Suishenma, applied via the Government Online-Offline Shanghai (“Yiwangtongban”) platform, with valid NAT information will also be accepted for those without a smart phone. Guests using the offline Suishenma will be required to present a valid government ID to our Cast at the same time. Please present your offline Suishenma to our onsite Cast to scan and verify the information;
- All guests will also be required to scan the “Venue Code” and present a green code to Cast, or present the Shanghai Health QR Code to onsite Cast for scanning to confirm the validity, upon entering Shanghai Disney Resort. - All guests visiting Shanghai Disneyland Hotel are required to present a green Telecommunication Data Based Travel Itinerary Card (Travel Itinerary Card) and complete the Health Declaration Form during check-in at the Front Desk and Magic Kingdom Lounge. If a guest is unable to complete scanning the “Venue Code”, unable to present a green Shanghai Health QR Code and a negative NAT taken within 72 hours, unable to present a green Travel Itinerary Card or if a guest has traveled to one of the medium or high-risk areas affected by COVID-19 over the past 14 days, they may not be able to check in. In accordance with local government directives, if a guest develops a fever or a fever with the following symptoms: cough, cough up sputum, runny nose, sore throat, chest aches & tension during their stay at one of our resort hotels, they will be asked to seek medical attention at a designated medical clinic;

What is a Disney Standby Pass?

Disney Standby Pass is an innovative free online reservation tool launched by Shanghai Disney Resort to help guests reserve times to enter the queue line for popular attractions or entertainment shows. It can help reduce your physical wait time in attraction queues, and enhance your overall park experience.

The specific dates, time periods, attractions and entertainment whereby Disney Standby Pass applies will be adjusted based on operational needs. For the time period when Disney Standby pass is applicable, guests need to hold a Disney Standby Pass to enter the standby queue at corresponding attractions and entertainment experiences. Outside of these hours, Disney Standby Pass will not be required.

Disney Standby Pass will not necessarily be required every day or for every applicable attraction and entertainment. Please check the Official App and tap on “Get Standby Pass” under “Make Plans” to see if Disney Standby Passes are required on the day of your visit. 

How to get and use a Disney Standby Pass?

  • Step 1 – Download the Shanghai Disney Resort Official App before you arrive at the park and create your own account with your mobile phone number or email address.
  • Step 2 – After entering the park, open the Shanghai Disney Resort Official App, sign in and select “Get Standby Pass”, and scan the QR code on your park ticket.
  • Step 3 – Create a party in the App by linking your group member’s park tickets so you can enjoy the attractions and entertainment together using the same Disney Standby Pass return time. Ensure all members of your party have entered the park.
  • Step 4 – Select the attraction or entertainment you want to get a Disney Standby Pass for no extra charge.
  • Step 5 – Confirm the selection for your Disney Standby Pass.
  • Step 6 – To redeem, go to the Disney Standby Pass return entrance at the designated return time, and then show your QR code, found in “My Plan” on the App or the QR code on your park ticket.

Guests who do not have a smart phone or have other difficulties in obtaining Disney Standby Pass may get assistance at Guest Services locations throughout the park.

Disney Standby Pass Rules

  • Disney Standby Passes are linked to park tickets. Please always keep your park ticket secure.
  • Disney Standby Pass is subject to availability.
  • Disney Standby Pass is only valid on the day of issue and can only be redeemed during the time selected.
  • Disney Standby Pass does not provide immediate access to an attraction.
  • Guests with a Disney Standby Pass must enter attractions and entertainment via the designated Disney Standby Pass entrances. Everyone in the party must have their own Disney Standby Pass, which is linked to their park tickets.
  • At the Disney Standby Pass entrance of the attraction, a Cast Member will scan your park ticket to verify the visual identity of the park ticket holder.
  • Guests, including Annual Pass holders, cannot hold an additional Disney Standby Pass for the same attraction/entertainment experience before the original Disney Standby Pass is redeemed or expires.
  • Guests may cancel their confirmed and unused Disney Standby Pass at any time prior to the expiration of the validity time shown on the pass. Since Disney Standby Pass distribution is subject to availability, guests are not guaranteed to get a new Disney Standby Pass after such a cancelation.

    • The Official App is the most convenient way for guests to access Disney Standby Pass. Guests can also see a Cast Member at Guest Services for assistance if they do not wish to download the App or don’t have a smartphone, or are not able to download the App. Please see a Cast Member at any Guest Services location for assistance. The Main Entrance Guest Services is based just inside the entrance to Shanghai Disneyland. There are also Guest Services located within a short walking distance to all locations that have Disney Standby Pass.
  6. How do I use my Disney Standby Pass once I am at the attraction or entertainment entrance?
    • Please go to the Disney Standby Pass return entrance at the attraction or entertainment venue at the designated return time, and then show your QR code, found in “My Plan” on the App or the QR code on your park ticket.
  7. Can I cancel or change my reserved time?
